Quite often, many who only have a short amount of time to spend on the South Island head straight to Mt Cook, West Coast or to Queenstown without having experienced the beauty of the more northern areas, like Kaikoura or Marlborough Sounds.
This is one of our pilot, Hugh’s preferred trips. Travel up along the east coastline, passing over the Canterbury plains and eventually over long sheltered inlets, clear waters and sandy bays. Marlborough Sounds is a collection of ancient sunken river valleys filled with water from the pacific ocean. |
OPTION 1:
Land in Kaikoura
Save yourself the 4 hour drive and let Canterbury Aviation fly you to Kaikoura for the day so you can spectate whales or swim with dolphins, which we can organise on your behalf.
Kaikoura is located on a rocky peninsula, protruding from luscious green farmland beneath the mountains and is famous for its seal life and complex marine system which also why it’s always on one’s bucket list. |
OPTION 2:
Land in Marlborough
Enjoy a scenic flight observing Canterbury’s coastline and dolphins before sampling Marlborough's renowned Sauvignon Blanc and other refreshments.
We can assist with vineyard selection, but no matter what you decide on, it’s been said that there is no wine anywhere else in the world that tastes like the wine of Marlborough. Every cellar door offers stylish, exciting wines that always surprise and delight. |
Please inform us in your enquiry if you’d like us to arrange any of the above. Both trips are half-day excursions, but we always make sure you have enough time to fully enjoy the whole experience.
